Robert Train Jr.
Passed away on December 11, 2018
On Tuesday, December 11, 2018, Robert Train, Jr. passed away at the age of 74. Born in Macon, GA on June 18, 1944, he was the son of Gerry (Jones) Train and Robert Train. Like his father, Mr. Train attended Episcopal High School in Alexandria, VA, where he played football. He graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1967 with a degree in engineering. He was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. He moved to Savannah in 1976 to work for Savannah Foods and Industries, where he was a Vice President of the Molasses Division. In Savannah, Mr. Train was a member of St. John’s Church. He was a member of the Saint Andrew’s Society and past member of the Savannah Golf Club and Oglethorpe Club.
He married Julia Walker Martin in 1978 and is survived by his wife and five children, Stephanie Maxwell Train of Tucker, GA, Louise Train Speirs of Montgomery, AL, Robert Train III (Tonya) of Pittsboro, NC, William Walker Train (Arianne) of Savannah, GA and Julia Train Smith (Greg) of Charlotte, NC. In addition, he is survived by 9 grandchildren. Mr. Train is also survived by two sisters, Louise Mancill (Ernie) of St. Mary’s, GA and Campbell Burton (Don) of Tampa, FL, and two brothers, John Train of St. Mary’s, GA and Gerald Train (Word) of Macon, GA.
The funeral service will be at St. John’s Church, 1 West Macon Street, at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 15, 2018.

Very sorry for your loss. It is at a time like this that we can turn to the promises found at Isaiah 33:24 and John 5:25 to find comfort, strength and hope. We long to see their fulfillment soon.

Joe League, Jr., my brother, passed away on September 24, 2018, and he loved Robert and considered him one of his dearest friends. Likewise, I grew up with the two of them constantly around. I know that Robert, Joe, and Louis Glendenning are brothers in Heaven now and at peace. I am so sorry for your loss and have you all in my prayers.
